Shri Basudev Panda, Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers 1986 batch, has taken over the charge of General Manger, Banaras Locomotive Works. Prior to joining this post, Shri Panda was Additional Member (Traction) / Railway Board. He has done his B.Tech. In Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and topped UPSC. After completion of his training, he worked in various Railway Electrification projects and successfully commissioned the first 2x25 KV electrification of Indian Railways in Anupur – Katni section of Bilaspur Division. He has worked in many challenging posts like Sr. DEE loco shed, Sr. DEE/TRD, CELE, CEDE, CPM/RE. He worked as DRM, Sealdah and Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, East Coast Railway. Among his many achievements are modification of tunnel OHE in KK line of WAT division and also in Chakradharpur Division. He has visited Singapore, Malaysia & Italy for Management training and China for training in heavy haul transportation.
