About us
Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), formerly Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW), is a premier locomotive manufacturing unit of Indian Railways located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Established in 1956, it primarily produces high-horsepower electric locomotives (such as WAP-7 and WAG-9) and also exports to global markets.
